青海师范大学建于1956年。学校已形成具有本科教育、研究生教育、留学生教育、成人教育和职业教育的完备教育体系,学科专业覆盖哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学、艺术学等10大门类,已成为文理工多学科协调发展,具有教师教育、高原地域和民族特色的省属重点大学。学校是博士学位授予单位、国家级藏汉双语人才培养培训基地,全国培养高水平运动员试点院校、国家社会体育指导员培训基地、全国汉语言水平测试(HSK)主考单位、教育部“*和创新团队计划”入选单位、中国教育和科研计算机网络青海省主节点院校、CALIS青海省文献信息服务中心,全国50所毕业生就业典型经验高校之一,具有推荐优秀应届本科毕业生免试攻读硕士学位研究生资格。
学校设成人教育学院(职业学院)、民族师范学院2个副厅级建制二级学院,共设17个学院。建有青海省丝绸之路经济带研究院、盐湖学院、班禅研究院、青藏高原文化研究所、青藏高原资源与环境研究所、教师教育理论与实践研究所、藏文信息研究中心等24个研究机构(智库)和3所附属中学。
现有3个一级学科博士学位授权点,12个二级学科博士学位授权点,11个一级学科硕士学位授权点,65个二级学科硕士学位授权点,5个专业硕士学位授权点。有62个本科专业,其中4个国家级特色专业,3个省级特色专业,12个省级重点学科,1个省级重点建设学科,1门国家级精品课程,23门省级精品课程。有17个国家级、省级重点实验室,其中1个教育部重点实验室,1个省部共建实验室,1个国家级实验教学示范中心,10个省级重点实验室,1个省级重点建设实验室,3个省级实验教学示范中心。建有3个省级人文社会科学重点研究基地。
现有在校学生15000多人,现有教职工1207人,各类专业技术人员992人。其中,教授260人,副教授351人,博士生导师32人,硕士生导师232人,享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家22人,国家有突出贡献的中青年专家1人。建有1个国家级教学团队,1个教育部创新团队,9个省级教学团队。4个学科团队入选青海省“人才小高地”建设项目,6人入选教育部新世纪优秀人才计划,13人入选“西部之光”访问学者, 7人入选青海省优秀专家,7人入选青海省优秀专业技术人才,20人入选青海省“135高层次人才培养工程”人才计划, 5人入选2015年青海省“昆仑英才”计划领军人才项目。截至目前,学校已培养10万余名各类专业人才,为青海省和西部地区的经济社会发展做出了积极贡献。
近年来,学校承担国家、省部级科研项目600多项,包括2项国家“863”项目,2项国家重大基础研究专项“973”项目,2项国家科技进步二等奖。《藏文计算机键盘和输入编码方法研究》、《三江源区草地生态恢复及可持续管理技术创新和应用》分获2004年、国家科学技术进步奖二等奖。国家“863”高科技项目“汉藏科技机器翻译系统”填补国内空白。“玛钦藏文平台、字库以及藏汉英电子词典”项目获2008年度青海省科学技术进步一等奖,使我国继续保持在世界藏文信息产业中的主导地位。“祁连山湿地生态系统修复保护技术集成与示范”项目被国家科技部列入科技支撑计划。史前人类在青藏高原活动遗迹研究成果被世界著名学术期刊《科学》(Science)选用并作封面报道。
学校高原体育运动教育训练特色突出,高水平运动队频传佳绩。学校高水平女子篮球队连续13次获得CUBA(全国大学生篮球联赛)西北赛区冠军和3次CUBA亚军,获得1次全国大学生超级联赛冠军和2次亚军,获得1次全国大学生运动会亚军和2次季军,并夺得2010年世界大学生篮球运动会冠军。高水平田径队继李春秀夺得1992年巴塞罗那奥运会女子10公里竞走铜牌后,体育教育专业学生切阳什姐和尹顺金分别在2012年伦敦奥运会获得女子20公里竞走银牌和2013年第十二届全国运动会马拉松赛金牌,实现青海省体育事业的巨大突破。
目前,学校有校本部、新校区及成都校区等三个校区。新校区占地面积1303亩,已于10月正式启用,各项建设总投资近20亿元,是体现学科专业特色,具有丰富文化内涵,各项设施西部一流的新型大学校园。
学校现与山东大学、兰州大学、陕西师范大学、首都师范大学、北京联合大学、天津师范大学建立对口支援合作关系。与新加坡南洋理工大学、台湾师范大学、台湾静宜大学、台湾万能科技大学、美国普渡大学、布鲁姆斯堡大学、蒙大拿大学、犹他谷大学、加州波莫纳理工大学、韩国国立顺天大学、日本铃鹿短期大学、马来西亚沙捞越大学、马六甲技术大学、土耳其伊兹密尔经济大学等高校建立合作交流关系。

Introduction to Qinghai Normal University
Qinghai Normal University (QHNU) was founded in 1956. It focuses on undergraduate education, and it also pays keen attention to graduate education, international student education, adult education and occupational education. With 9 disciplines covering literature, history, science, education, philosophy, economics, law, engineering and management, QHNU has become a key university at the provincial level in China, focusing on sciences and liberal arts, coordinated development of multi-disciplines, possessing features of teachers’ education and local color of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. As a university acquiring the right to grant doctor’s degree, QHNU has been designated as a key university of bilingual (Tibetan-Chinese) teacher training education in West China, a pilot university for the cultivation of high-level athletes, a training base of social sports instructors, information service center (Qinghai Province) of CALIS and a primary university in the China Education and Research Network (CERNET) in Qinghai Province.
QHNU consists of 2 colleges at deputy-department level in terms of organizational system (Adult Education College and Teachers’ College for Nationalities), 15 faculties, 3 attached middle schools and 5 such research institutions as the Research Institute of Culture of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Institute of Resource and Environment in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Research Institute of Teacher Education Theory and Practice, the Center of Tibetan Information Research and the Research Institute of Panchen Lama.
With the authorization of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, QHNU has acquired the right to grant doctor’s degree in 3 first-level disciplines and 12 second-level disciplines, and master’s degree in 11 first-level disciplines and 65 second-level disciplines as well as 5 professional master's degrees. QHNU now has 61 undergraduate majors (programs), among which there are 4 national level and 3 provincial level programs with special features, 12 provincial key disciplines, 1 national excellence course, 23 provincial excellence courses. It is also equipped with 21 laboratories with various levels such as key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, national experimental teaching demonstration center, etc.
At Psent, QHNU has a total number of 15,000 students studying at associate degree, undergraduate and graduate programs in an extensive variety of fields. The number of staff amounts to 1,296, of whom, 985 are professionals of all kinds including 21 experts who are granted with special government allowance from the State Council, 222 professors and 338 associate professors. 11 professors have been selected by several well-known universities of China as doctoral tutors.
QHNU adheres to the principle of promoting teaching with scientific research, actively encourages teachers to undertake the research projects at both national and provincial level to strengthen scientific and teaching research. In recent years, QHNU has undertaken over 400 state-, ministry-and province-level scientific projects including a nation-level Project of “863” and 2 nation-level key Project of “973”. The Project “Tibetan Computer Keyboard and Input Coding Method” was awarded the second prize of National Awards for Science and Technology Progress in 2004. The Project “Chinese-Tibetan Science and Technology Machine Translation System (CTSTMTS)” of the State“863” High-tech Projects has filled a gap in this field in China, whose technology is at an advanced level in the world. “The Research on Polynomial of Graph Theory” was awarded the second prize of provincial Awards for Science and Technology Progress. In 2012, “the Project of Wetland Ecosystem Restoration and Protection Technology in Qilian Mountains” has obtained financial support from the Ministry of Science and Technology.
As a pilot university for the cultivation of high-level athletes, QHNU has a great reputation in several events of sports. Women’s basketball team, a high-level basketball team, has won consecutively 12 champions in Northwest Area of CUBA. It has also won 3 runner-up of CUBA, 1 runner-up and 2 third places in National Games of University Students, and the 2010 world basketball champion of university students. There are also other outstanding athletes like Li Xiuchun who won the bronze medal in women’s 10 km walking race in 1992’s Barcelona Olympic Games, Qieyangshijie who got the bronze medal in women’s 20 km walking race in 2012’s London Olympic Games, and Yin Shunjin who won the marathon gold medal in Twelfth National Games in 2013, which realizes a great breakthrough in sports in Qinghai Province.
At Psent, with an investment of nearly 1.5 billion yuan (around 250 million USD), the new campus, which covers an area of nearly 100 hectares, with various first-class facilities in China’s western region has been completed and put into use since September, 2016.
As international exchanges and cooperation is burgeoning in recent years, QHNU has established cooperative relationship with such universities at home as: Shandong University, Lanzhou University, Shaanxi Normal University, Capital Normal University, Beijing Union University, Tianjin Normal University, National Taiwan Normal University and Taiwan Vanung University. Following universities and research institutes abroad: Nanyang Technological University, Purdue University, Fort Hays State University, Western Kentucky University, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, Truman State University, Pomona California Polytechnic University, University of Regina, BSK International Organization for International Academic Exchange, Deggendorf Institute of Technology, Turkey Okan University, Sunchon National University, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka.
To further adapt itself to economic and social development in the new century, QHNU will do a solid job during the next five years to intensify its efforts in teaching reform, education quality, international exchange and cooperation, and the follow-up construction of the new campus so as to serve society fully and forge an even brighter future for itself.
